Why is Hrithik Roshan considered such a beloved figure in Bollywood despite facing so many personal challenges in his life?

Hrithik Roshan's career trajectory is quite strange. On one hand, he has overcome so many hurdles to become the star that he is. He was diagnosed with scoliosis at a young age, but that didn't deter him from realising his dreams. He persevered and overcame every obstacle, including stammering, to become a bonafide star.

Yet, there is a constant feeling that he hasn't done justice to his immense talent, as I sincerely believe he had the potential to reach the zenith of Bollywood, considering his capability. People primarily focus more on his looks, charm, and impeccable dance moves. These attributes perhaps make people overlook the fact that Hrithik has been an equally good actor. Some of the roles he chose were risky, yet he pulled them off with conviction. His versatility often goes unnoticed as people still associate him with his Greek God image.

He made a smashing debut in the year 2000 with Kaho Na Pyar Hai and became an overnight sensation. Post KNPH, he gave a string of flops and was written off as a one-hit wonder. But he made a memorable comeback with Koi Mill Gaya and reached his peak in 2006, delivering the top 2 grossers of the year. It was assumed that he would consolidate his position at the top, but a couple of misfires in the subsequent years and long gaps between his films meant that he was playing catch-up to his contemporaries (especially Khans) in the next 2 decades. Still, he remains one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood and has a loyal fan base to date.

Beyond his stardom and acting prowess, what stands out about Hrithik has been the grace with which he has conducted himself off-screen. In that sense, he has been somewhat of an oddity in Bollywood.

No insecurity: Unlike other Bollywood stars, Hrithik has hardly been involved in any controversy. You'd never find him talking ill of any of his contemporaries. On the contrary, he has promoted and praised almost every big Bollywood film on his social media. In 2016, Rustom makers, out of nowhere, decided to clash their film with Hrithik's magnum opus Mohenjo-Daro. The next year, SRK's Raees clashed with Kaabil despite Rakesh Roshan having announced Kaabil’s release date well in advance. Any other actor would have expressed his displeasure through PR articles, yet Hrithik hardly seemed perturbed by these events and never made any fuss about it. He continues to maintain a good relationship with both Srk and Akshay.

Kangana fiasco: The entire controversy surrounding Hrithik's alleged affair with Kangana was also handled with grace. Kangana went on a rampage during Simran’s promotions, accusing him of cheating without a single piece of evidence to back her claims. She gave one interview after another, belittling Hrithik and even his family. Despite multiple provocations, Hrithik shared his side of the story without getting personal or saying anything nasty about anyone. He hardly found any support from his fraternity, yet stood his ground. He was brave enough to face the media and voiced the plight of every man wrongly accused by women in a dignified manner.

Family Man: Hrithik parted ways with his ex-wife, Suzanne, amicably. They continue to be cordial with each other. There were no attempts to gain sympathy through curated interviews. In fact, during the Kangana controversy, he found an unlikely ally in Suzanne. He seems to be a doting father and a responsible son, too. He has tried to keep his personal matters as private as possible.

He is one of the rare stars who has handled his stardom with humility and continues to give his all in every movie that he does. While some of his recent movies may have underperformed, you could never doubt his sincerity and dedication towards his work.

What is the reason behind Hrithik Roshan and Suzzane's divorce?

Marriages and relationships have always been quite fragile in Bollywood. When Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan announced their decision to part ways after 17 years of being married, fans were left heartbroken. A lot of reasons were given why things came to this point -

  1. Rumours began doing the rounds that Hrithik's philandering ways created a wedge between him and Sussanne, and Kangana Ranaut's claims that she had an affair with him during the making of Krrish 3, while he was still married, only added fuel to the fire. Hrithik was also linked with his Kites co-actor, Mexican hottie Barbara Mori.

2. Sussanne's rumoured affair with Arjun Rampal - Sussanne herself was subsequently linked with actor Arjun Rampal, who was married to Mehr Jesia Rampal. Arjun was a family friend of Hrithik. The couples even used to hang out together. When Arjun and his wife Mehr Jesia were separating after two decades of marriage, fingers were being pointed at Sussanne. However, Sussanne had earlier slammed the "malicious" rumours about her affair with Arjun.

3. Sussanne's drug addiction - She is a cocaine addict and a regular party goer, and it is said that this is what led to her divorce with Hrithik. It is said that her friendship with Arjun Rampal and their alleged drug intake was reportedly one of the main reasons why Sussanne and Hrithik broke up.

4. Hrithik's busy schedule - Sources say that Ms. Roshan was upset that Hrithik was constantly busy with movies and promotional events that he pay much attention to her and the family.

5. Another reason that was rumored to cause their breakup was that she was unhappy with her in-laws. There was news that mother-in-law Pinky Roshan had got into a terrible feud with Sussanne.

On Gauri Khan‘s birthday 2016, Sussanne wished her on Instagram and shared an old photo of herself and Hrithik with Gauri. The caption used #FriendsForLife gives us clear hint that the couple may have been divorced now, but the two are still good friends.

Why Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan & Vivek Oberoi denied for the "Hum Tum" movie which was directed by Kunal Kohli?

Hum Tum was a game changer for Saif Ali Khan but Hrithik Roshan was the first choice for the role.

As Hrithik was going through a rough patch with flops like Naa Tum Jaano Naa Hum, Aap Mujhe Ache Lagne Lage and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon he was a bit skeptical to give it a nod. Though he loved the script, he was not sure whether it will be a right choice.

After Hrithik, it was Aamir Khan who was approached for the same. It was the time when Aamir was going through his divorce with Reena Dutta. He was not in the right frame of mind for a rom-com and did not even hear the script.

Vivek Oberoi who was gaining popularity with Company and Saathiya liked the script. He even alloted dates for the film but cancelled them later demanding some changes in the script. Further, there were some more issues and the makers decided to move on.

Finally, it was Saif Ali Khan who made it. Hum Tum helped Saif to come out of the image of a supporting actor and established him as a solo hero. His performance was appriciated in the film. Hrithik watched the trial of the film and he too felt that Saif was the right choice.

Zindagi Do Pal ki (Kites) lyrics

Movie Name : Kites

Song Name : Zindagi Do Pal Ki

Zindagi do pal ki, zindagi do pal ki

Intezaar kab tak hum karenge bhala
Tumhe pyaar kab tak na karenge bhala
Zindagi do pal ki..

Dil mein tumhare chhupa di hai maine to apni ye jaan
Ab tum hi isko sambhalo hume apna hosh kahaan
Bekhudi do pal ki, zindagi do pal ki
Intezaar kab tak hum karenge bhala
Tumhe pyaar kab tak na karenge bhala

Ik chota sa vaada iss umar se zyada sachcha hai sanam
Har mod par saath iss liye rehte hain ab dono hum
Dosti do pal ki, zindagi do pal ki
Intezaar kab tak hum karenge bhala
Tumhe pyaar kab tak na karenge bhala
Zindagi do pal ki, zindagi..
