Lions exhibit a wary behavior rather than fear.
Also, lions are at the TOP of the food chain. They don’t just run from any animals because they’ve got the pride to back them up.
Some large herbivores can stand up to lions under normal circumstances.
This include:
African Elephants.
Rhinos.
Hippopotamuses.
But these questions like these ones are very often misinterpreted . Just because a lion moves away from another large herbivore, it doesn’t mean they are cowards. In fact, there’s no cowardice in nature. It’s all about survival.

It’s funny how most ignorant people love to call lions , tigers or any predators ‘’ cowards ‘’ when they themselves are real cowards .
But for me, I wouldn’t say lions or any predators are cowards but rather they are just trying to survive.
Another word is fear. Fear doesn’t apply to animals. It’s a human term.
