What are the best street foods you have tasted in India and where?

Welcome to my city, Hyderabad, it has some great street food to eat. Only thing, if you want to experience the street food and drinks in Hyderabad, you need to get out of that Hi-Tech City-Jubilee Hills area, that is too sanitized and sterile. You experience the best in older areas of Hyderabad like the Old City, or Secunderabad or Chikkadpally.

Well I guess the Hyderabad Biryani must have been discussed ad nauesam, but I would not exactly count it as a street food sort, though of lot you have dime a dozen Biryani outlets popping up all over the place. Anyway here are some.

Lukhmi

Sort of square shaped samosa, filled with mutton keema inside. You get this at most Irani cafes.

Dilkhush

Bread stuffed with cherries and other fruit fillings.

Chota Samosa

Small triangular samosas stuffed with onions, generally taken as a tea time snack.

Osmania Biscuits

Named after the last Nizam of Hyderabad, usually taken along with the Irani Chai.

Karachi Bakery Fruit Biscuits

So named after the popular bakery outlet, Karachi Bakeries in Hyderabad, pretty crisp.

Salt Biscuits,

Hyderabadi Haleem

Mostly served during Ramzan time, it has a chicken and mutton version. Of late there are vegetarian versions too.

Hyderabadi Marag

Kind of thick mutton soup served as starter.

Hyderabadi Falooda

Somewhat different from the other Faluda, made with kulfi, rose syrup, basil seeds and tapioca.
