1995 is considered as an important year for Bollywood as this was the year when Bollywood films started flourishing in the overseas market post Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
1995 was a mix basket of films with Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge topping the list in regards to national and international commercial success.Though the question of best film is very subjective as per personal choices and preferences, following are few films which deserve a mention for various reasons.
The year's first big release was Karan Arjun which released in January. Based on the theme of incarnation people loved to see Shahrukh and Salman together and the film was a musical blockbuster.
Rangeela was liked by many due to its colourful presentation, Urmila's sensational looks, outstanding music by A. R. Rahman, brilliant choreography by Ahmed Khan and great performance by Aamir Khan.
David Dhawan's Coolie No.1 was a very entertaining movie with a plot of mistaken identity. Govinda playing a dual role sharing brilliant chemistry with Kadar Khan was a hilarious hit.
Aamir Khan's role in Akele Hum Akele Tum was quite different from the role he played in Rangeela. The film was good. Aamir Khan's and Manisha Koirala’s performances were acclaimed. Although the film was well received with critics but it failed to connect with the audience.
Other mentions would be Barsaat, Bombay, Raja, Ram Jaane and Sabse Bada Khiladi.
