Neem Karoli Maharaj (1900–73) was an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman ji.
He never claimed to be and always opposed him being called an incarnation of Sri Hanuman ji.

His spartan lifestyle , simplicity and intense devotion marked him out in a crowd.

Lord Hanuman ji blessed him to spread the Sri Ram Katha across the world.
During his life time, Maharaj did built and renovated many shrines.
Trance : Neem Karoli ji was often found in a meditative trance chanting Ram Ram for hours.
He used to look at images of Lord Sri Ram ji oft and again.
Strangely, Maharaj ji was able to predict future events with absolute accuracy.
Devotee : Being a true devotee of Lord Hanuman ji , he credited every good event to him.
Interestingly, he never initiated any disciple throughout his life.
His simple ashrams were open houses for all. All were welcome to stay, pray and eat there.
Rules : He never allowed his family and close devotees to misuse his name.
He never used his influence to help his family members in mundane affairs.
His family members and close devotees led a simple lifestyle without the limelight and affluence.
Facts : Neem Karoli Maharaj was a true Bhakta.
He never claimed to be Hanuman ji. He never allowed anyone to treat him as such.
Perhaps, overzealous devotees and the media have turned him into an incarnation of Hanuman ji.
Note : True saints like Maharaj are born once in a century.
