Shiney Ahuja made his debut with Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi and also won the Filmfare Best Debut Male award for the same.
His notable works include Gangster, Woh Lamhe, Life in a…Metro and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
His career ended following a 2009 controversy which led to his conviction in 2011. Ahuja was arrested on charges of Section 376 and also for detaining and threatening his 19 year old maid servant.
During the trial the maid recanted on her testimony. However, the judge believed that the maid was falsely testifying under pressure and sentenced Shiney to seven years of prison based on forensic and DNA evidence.
His career stagnated and he attempted to return to acting with a horror film Ghost (2009) and a cameo in Welcome Back. However, the industry had largely distanced itself from him and he received no further major projects.
Shiney has completely left the film industry and public life behind. His wife Anupam Ahuja has supported him all the way. As per reports, Shiney is successfully running a private garment and textile business in the Philippines.
