- He didn't drink alcohol and hated the smell of tobacco.

- He was probably only truly in love once in his life, in this case with his niece Geli Raubal, who ended up committing suicide with a weapon belonging to her uncle.
- He had serious digestive problems and was constantly passing gas. His personal hygiene was poor.
- He was a witness at the wedding of his propaganda minister, Josef Goebbels. Hitler is in the background (the boy on the right is Magda Goebbels' son from her first marriage):
- In the late 1930s, Hitler forced Goebbels to break off his relationship with his mistress, the actress Lida Baarová (pictured below), who was forced to leave the country. Hitler adored Goebbels' wife, whom he saw as his ideal of the Aryan woman, and refused any idea of a divorce.
- His designated successor was initially Rudolf Hess
- Then Hermann Goering (relegating Hess to third place)
- But it was Karl Doenitz, head of the Navy, who would eventually take his place temporarily after his suicide, long enough to surrender.

- Russian soldiers recovered some of Hitler's teeth from his partially burned body. Suffice it to say, the dictator spent a lot of time at the dentist's office…
