Which are some easily breakable records in cricket history but still not broken by anyone?

You are a debutant bowler, and your first international wicket has to be a bowled.

Easy, isn’t it,and many bowlers have done that in the past,no doubt.

But taking his first international wicket as bowled across all three formats of cricket- ODIs,T20Is and tests, has been achieved only by one bowler, none other than Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

  • He bowled Md. Hafeez as his first ODI wicket(2012).
  • He bowled Nasir Jamshed as his first T20I wicket(2012).
  • He bowled David Warner as his first test wicket(2013).

This record still stays with him.

So many yorker specialists debuting nowadays are yet to achieve thus record. Plus, debutant spinners with their flippers and top spins can easily get batsmen bowled. Yet,they too haven’t touched this record.

Many bowlers have bowled batsmen as their debut wickets in any 2 formats, but none has achieved this feat across 3 formats, except Bhuvi.

This is a Bhuvi special!😇

Interesting fact-

Do you know that Bhuvi’s first IPL wicket,Shaun Marsh too was a bowled? He just loves getting batsmen bowled.😆

Unmesh Kundu (उन्मेष कुंडु)'s answer to What are some records in cricket that you were shocked to know existed?

Edit 1- Gautam Sethi believes that B. Kumar has lost the prodigious swing which he displayed vs Pakistan in 2012,or against England in 2014. According to me,we should wait for him to play again on those kind of surfaces. I bet he will be able to generate swing again.

Which records in cricket are unlikely to be broken ever?

Getting out, after scoring Triple Centuries (in tests ), on the same date twice!!

There are many records which are unlikely to be broken because of the magnitude of it. Well, this one is going to be much more difficult to break for sure.

Scoring a triple century in test cricket is not at all a common feat. Only 30 triple centuries have been scored till date in the entire test cricket history ( by 26 different batsmen ). The frequency of a batsman scoring a Test triple century is slightly less than that of a bowler taking a Test hatrick, according to wikipedia.

And,

For the same batsman to score 2 triple centuries in his career is obviously a rarer phenomenon. Only 4 players have achieved this landmark in tests, namely, Donald Bradman(Australia) , Brian Lara(West Indies), Chris Gayle(West Indies) and Virender Sehwag (India).

And then,

To score them is one thing but to get out on the same dates after doing so !!. Well, it is some coincidence, isn’t it ?

Date : March 29

And,

The man who scored these peculiar triples??

None other than the ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’, Virender Sehwag.

The first one came against Pakistan at Multan in 2004. The test began on 28 Mar 2004 and sehwag reached his triple after lunch on Day 2 , before losing his wicket on 309.

Date he got out : March 29, 2004.

India eventually won the match by an innings and 52 runs, thanks to Viru’s maiden triple !

The second one was against a world class opposition in South Africa. The test began on March 26, 2008 and South Africa were the first to bat. They posted a huge total of 540 before getting all out near the end of day 2. Sehwag scored 284 runs the following day and scored his 2nd triple, becoming only the fourth player to do so. In the first session of Day 4, while on 319 Sehwag was caught at slip, only to get a standing ovation from the Chennai crowd, who were thoroughly entertained.

Date he got out: March 29, 2008

India had to wait for more than 12 years to see someone other than Sehwag to score a triple century for the nation. Karun nair recently scored a triple century against England, becoming only the second Indian to achieve the feat !

Given the rarity of a triple century in test matches and the strange nature of this record, I think Virender Sehwag may remain as the only player to score 2 triple hundreds and get out on the same date in both of them, for years to come.

Long live, The Nawab Of Najafgarh !!

What are some architectural records?

This is the heaviest building in the world:

It is the Palace of the Parliament in Romania.

It is 84 meters high and weighs 4,098,500,000 kg, as it was mainly built using steel, marble and concrete construction.

In 1977, a severe earthquake occurred, which prompted the then leader, Nicolae Ceaușescu, to build this building, taking his cues from North Korean architecture.

The construction employed 700 architects and 20,000 workers for three years.

The construction consumed an enormous amount of resources, caused much suffering, and razed the homes of many residents, displacing their inhabitants.

Just two years after its completion, communism failed and the palace was looted by angry mobs.

The building cost 3 billion euros to construct, making it the most expensive administrative building in the world. And, as is so often the case, only about 30% of the building is actually used today.

Who holds the worst record in cricket which is unbeaten till now?

Most ODI runs without a Hundred

Misbah-ul-Haq holds the record for the most number of One Day International (ODI) runs scored without ever going past the 100-run mark. In a career spanning from 2002 to 2015, Misbah scored 5,122 runs and was once unbeaten on 96 but never once managed to get an ODI century.

Most nineties in Career |

Sachin Tendulkar leads the chart when it comes to most number of hundreds scored in a career having crossed the milestone a stunning 100 times. What is surprising is that he also holds the record for the most number of nineties in international cricket. He has a total of 28 nineties with 10 coming in Tests and 18 in ODIs.

Players run out most times in ODIs

Running yourself or your teammate out is considered a cardinal sin in cricket and no batsman would want to be involved in such blunders.

But there are some who cannot get their feet moving between the stumps.

You guessed it right, Inzamam-ul-Haq holds this unwanted record, but he also shares it with another Pakistani legend Wasim Akram.

Both have been run out 38 times.

Most runs in an over in Tests

Another legendary figure who has an unwanted record in the game is English pacer James Anderson. Jimmy has the most wickets for England in Test history but one of those overs that he bowled yielded 28 runs.

George Bailey was the batsman on the other end who punished the Englishman during an Ashes series.

Most runs without a wicket

Imran Tahir, the bearded, excitable South African spinner is another one who has the record for conceding the most number of runs without a wicket. The South African toiled for 37 long overs but was belted to all parts of the park.

He conceded a record 267 runs in those overs and did no pick up even one wicket.

Longest over in cricket

Bowling an over is an easy task. All you have to do is make sure that you place your foot behind the crease and throw the ball into a good area. Repeat the process six times and you have an over to your name. However, 17 balls to complete an over is a little bit of an understatement and Mohammad Sami performed the excruciating task of bowling that many deliveries.

In a match against the West Indies back in 2004, Sami gave away 7 no balls and 4 wides to finish a mammoth over.

Most time for a century

A century is a record that is special to any batsman as it requires great patience and determination to get. Some people will bide their time and make sure that they get to the milestone no matter what. Ask Mudassar Nazar, the Pakistani batsman who reached his century in just 557 minutes.( Yawn) .

Which records in cricket are unlikely to be broken ever?

While cricket has evolved dramatically over the years, certain historic achievements have been placed completely out of reach for modern players. Changes in sports science, heavily packed schedules across three distinct formats, and more result-oriented strategies mean that some milestones will likely remain eternal.

The following records stand as towering landmarks that are virtually impossible to break:

Sir Don Bradman’s Test Batting Average (99.94):No one else has ever come close to this level of freakish consistency over a sustained career. Bradman scored 6,996 runs across 52 Test matches, missing a perfect average of 100.00 after getting dismissed for a duck in his final career innings. To put this into perspective, modern elite batsmen are considered legendary if they maintain a career average of 50 to 55.

Muttiah Muralitharan’s 800 Test Wickets: With the modern cricketing calendar heavily prioritizing T20 leagues over long-form Test matches, bowlers simply do not play enough Test cricket anymore to sustain a career long enough to threaten this number. The Sri Lankan spin wizard accumulated a staggering 800 wickets in just 133 Tests (and 1,347 wickets across all international formats).

Jim Laker’s 19 Wickets in a Single Test Match: Since a team can only take a maximum of 20 wickets in a game, a modern bowler would have to perfectly replicate Laker's performance or take all 20 wickets to break the record—an administrative and statistical anomaly that will likely never happen again. In 1956, England's Jim Laker pulled off the near-impossible against Australia at Old Trafford, picking up 9 wickets in the first innings and all 10 in the second.

Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 International Centuries: Achieving 51 Test centuries and 49 ODI hundreds required Tendulkar to play at the highest level for an astonishing 24 years. Given the physical burnout rate of contemporary cricketers playing non-stop franchise and international cricket, matching this longevity and century count is widely considered an impossible peak to climb.

These figures belong to unique eras of the sport, making them permanent fixtures in cricket history.

Which records in cricket are unlikely to be broken ever?

Though records are made to be broken, here are a few records that are unlikely to be broken,

1.Muttiah Muralitharan - The Spin King

He has taken 1347 wickets across all international formats (Test 800 + ODI 534 + T20I 13) which is definitely not possible for any other bowler to even get close to his achievement.

The celebration after scalping the 800th test wicket in the last ball of his last test match. He was wicket-less for 23 overs before reaching this milestone against India in Galle.

2. Rahul Dravid - The Wall

Test cricket is all about facing as many balls as possible and making the opponent bowlers tired, along with getting the much required runs. He is the masterclass in doing that, and he’d faced as many as 31258 balls in his test career which is unlikely to be broken ever.

(PS - I’ve seen in an other answer that he’s spent the most time during batting but the writer had missed or not intended to point out the number of balls faced by this legend)

3. Sachin Tendulkar - Master Blaster

We’ve spoken a lot about his 100 international centuries, 34357 intl.runs, etc. but did anyone notice the number of balls faced by him? I don’t think so. So here’s the stat which says he had faced 50816 deliveries in his entire intl. career, which is another record not gonna be broken anytime.

4. Rohit Sharma - Hitman

Though it has become a routine for most batsmen around the globe to get a century in ODIs, it isn’t the same in scoring a double century. This man had got to his 200 not once but thrice, scoring 209,264 and 208* against Australia and Sri Lanka respectively. The credits for this unlikely to be broken record goes to his hardwork, talent and luck.
