It simply means that you are rich and successful.
If this person is not a superstar actor with a net worth of 500 Cr (USD 50 Million) but some ordinary rank-and-file employee living in a rented 1 bedroom house in the city outskirts,
Would you call him simple?
If this person behaved and talked in the exact same way as he did without any contributions to the country, without his achievements, without his outstanding career in space, without his term as a president,
How many would have called him humble?
The bottom line is
To be simple and humble, you need to be wealthy, and successful. One friend I know used to say— I don’t have the luxury of saying that I would go for a simple wedding. As people around me would immediately say, ‘As if you can afford an expensive wedding.’
So, you need to earn a lot and not show it in your lifestyle to be called simple. Otherwise, people would call you poor. You need to achieve a lot and never speak high about it to be called humble. Otherwise, people would consider you ordinary. That’s the irony.
