Madhuri Dixit and Rajnikanth were seen together in the film Uttar Dakshin which was produced by Subhash Ghai and directed by Prabhat Khanna.
Rajnikanth plays the role of Jackie Shroff’s step-brother in the film. Jackie targets Rajnikanth after discovering the hidden past of his wealthy father and seeks to disrupt their lives.
Also, Jackie befriends Rajnikanth and essentially takes Madhuri away from him, creating conflict between the two half-brothers before family truths are eventually revealed. The film is an action-drama which focuses on family conflict, morality and reconciliation.
This is the only time Madhuri Dixit and Rajinikanth worked together in a film. Madhuri holds a high opinion of Rajnikanth frequently calling him an inspiration and a wonderful human being. Her fondest memories include Rajnikanth’s effort to speak with her in Marathi during the shooting of the film. Madhuri has often praised the kind, humble and respectful nature of Rajnikanth.
A few years back Madhuri even shared a warm reunion selfie with Rajinikanth and her husband Dr. Nene at the 2023 Cricket World Cup. She fondly noted that whenever they meet, he still remembers their time working on Uttar Dakshin.
