When did Shahrukh Khan start working with Anubhav Sinha?

Shahrukh Khan and Anubhav Sinha collabrated for the superhero film Ra.One. It was around 2006 when Sinha pitched the core concept of the movie to Shahrukh after which they officially started to develop the script and the film was released in 2011.

Sinha pitched a core five-minute concept about a father who creates a video game for his son, where the virtual villain escapes into the real world and forces the hero to fight him.

Shahrukh was impressed with the raw foundational script and immediately agreed for the project.

Both of them were ambitious to make a groundbreaking film that would push the technological boundaries of the Indian film industry and elevate its VFX.

Sinha got the idea of making Ra.One while watching a commercial on TV. The commercial was about two kids controlling a human with a remote. He wrote a three-page short story based on the commercial which was then shaped into a full-fledged film.

Before this, Sinha and Shahrukh Khan were acquainted with each other during the filming of Oh! Darling Yeh Hai India. Ketan Mehta was the director of the film and Anubhav Sinha was assisting him.
