What are some truths about Tamil hero Suriya?

 I think truth is too strong a word to use in such a trivial context, and I would rather call this some interesting facts about Tamil actor Suriya. (In fact I had earlier written this as an answer to another question but in a different context, and am copy pasting the excerpts from there as it fits in perfectly here)

In the year 1997, S.M.Vasanth, one of the popular film-makers in Tamil made a film titled Nerukku Ner, a double hero subject in which he wanted to cast the two most promising young actors of the day, Vijay and Ajithkumar. But as Ajith pulled out of the film ostensibly due to date problems, Saravanan who was the son of veteran actor Sivakumar was rechristened Suriya, and was taken on board in place of Ajith. The film went on to become successful and established Suriya as one of the popular leading men of Tamil film world.

In the year 2001, famed director Bala, fresh from his sleeper hit debut with Sethu, was making his much anticipated second film, Nandha, and initially wanted to cast Ajithkumar in the role of the intense protagonist. Again, as fate would have it, Ajithkumar opted out of the film, and it was Suriya who landed that role of the tough looking angry young man in the movie. That film too went on to win critical acclaim, and more importantly helped Suriya shed his earlier soft and shy chocolate boy image, and gave him a much needed image make over to cement his place as a bankable action hero.

In the year 2003, another popular director, Gautham Menon was planning a stylish cop story, with actor Ajithkumar in mind to play the male lead. Once again Ajithkumar excused himself citing reservations about playing a cop, and Menon finally zeroed in on Suriya, impressed by his performance in Nandha and also reportedly influenced by the recommendation of the leading lady, Jyothika. This film became a game changer for Suriya, and catapulted him to the league of much sought after star-heroes in Tamil.

In 2005 yet another rising film maker A.R.Murugadoss had plans of making a film tentatively titled Mirattal with Ajithkumar and Asin in the lead, and even some photo shoots were reportedly held. But the film got subsequently shelved, and ARM then made this in to Ghajini with Suriya in the lead while Asin was retained as the female lead. When released, the film went on to become a block buster, and catapulted Suriya to the pinnacle of filmy stardom.

Till now, we saw how the roles/films rejected by Ajithkumar fortuitously helped Suriya to achieve success and stardom, not once, but four times. But the most interesting coincidence between these two lead actors had its genesis much earlier, and interestingly in the reverse direction.

In 1995, the same director Vasanth was making a thriller film called Aasai and the role of the romantic lead was offered to Suriya, who was then just Saravanan, as his launch vehicle into tinsel world. But he expressed his disinclination to take up acting in movies for a profession, and the role finally went to a very handsome budding actor of the day as his first major lead role, and put him firmly on the road to stardom.

His father Sivakumar is one of the senior actors of Tamil cinema, who has acted in lead roles when Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth used to play supporting characters in some of his films.  The Murder most foul- Priya Rajvansh

In a limited career, Rajvansh, born Vera Sunder Singh, worked with some of Hindi film industry’s stalwarts, but most prominently her partner and filmmaker Chetan Anand(Dev Anand’s brother)— from the film Haqeeqat (1964) to reincarnation drama Kudrat (1981).

Rajvansh got her first role in Chetan Anand’s war film Haqeeqat(1964) which is still considered as one of the best war films to have been made in Hindi film industry.

Interestingly, the other six films that Priya acted in were all directed by Chetan Anand as he did not allow her to work with other directors.

Chetan Anand was the man who made Priya and actress and also the man who marred(unofficially)her and also the man who became the reason for her murder.

Rajvansh’s relationship with Anand can not be described as live-in because she was way too classy and dignified to be termed a mistress. Her reputation on and off - screen was respectable. She could be at best called his companion and true lover as she managed his home and film making processes and other businesses as well.

After Anand’ death in 1997, he left behind a fortune and according to his will, Rajvansh was one of the three equal beneficiaries, apart from the filmmaker’s two sons Ketan Anand and Vivek Anand

On 27 March 2000, Rajvansh was found murdered at Chetan Anand’s bungalow at Pali hill( Bunglow no.41). The domestic help Mala Chaudhary and Ashok Chinnaswam were convicted of the murder of Priya Rajvansh, while Vivek and Ketan were convicted for plotting to murder Rajvansh. The four moved the Bombay High Court in 2002 against the verdict, and were granted bail Then, in 2011, the high court accepted the appeals filed by the two brothers against their guilty verdict.

 I belong to a middle class family.

One of my cousin sister Ananya, is quite good in studies since her childhood, and this year she can easily get an IIT as she has performed very well in JEE advanced paper.

She is very very passionate about singing, so passionate that she always argue in family that why she should choose singing as career by leaving studies.

Few days back she shared me a post(below) from instagram with a question "Do you think my IIT or your NIT( I'm from NIT) can give us this even after 5-10 years of our job?

The caption of this post says that the girl in this pic has bought this BMW car by her own earnings.

Little background about the girl in this pic. She is Anuska Sen, a famous Indian television actress. She started her career as a child actor and has worked in many TV commercials, films and music albums. Now she is also the brand ambassador of some famous projects.

I was little awestruck by this and couldn't get what to respond.

But i replied.

Me: So? You want to leave IIT and pursue singing, right?

Ananya: You better know it.

Me: Well, do you have any idea, how many people fail who drop from studies and try to pursue their dream? More than 95% fail. Later they regret that they could have not taken such step.

Ananya: But what about those 5%? Some IITians might be working under those 5%. So if this risk gives such privilege, then it's worth taking risk.

Me: You are forgetting that we are middle class people, if this risk fail, you will be homeless, our parents have not kept so much wealth that we can easily survive even without working.

Ananya: I see. 😑

Ques: What are some ugly truth of life?

Ans: For a person who belongs to a middle class family, first he/she needs to clear a cutoff of life i.e getting a decent job first and then think of pursuing dreams. It's not that a middle class family is afraid of taking risks or don't want to take risks, but it's the responsibilities of feeding and taking care of their family first which make them avoid such risks.
