- Thou shalt not refer to Onam as a Hindu festival.
- Thou shalt not insult beef curry and porotta.
- Thou shalt not make negative comments on the Communist party/regime. It does not matter if they are in power or not.
- Thou shalt present thyselves as the epitome of civility while waiting in line at the Beverages Corporation outlets.
- Thou shalt understand that education (read becoming a doctor, engineer, lawyer, CA) is the sole path to receiving social recognition in Kerala. Without education, thou art an imbecile unfit to be a part of Kerala's genteel crowd.
- Thou shalt not make any reference to a Malayali as a 'Madrasi' under any circumstances.
- Thou shalt not ask or attempt to know the caste of a Malayali. This is akin to a cardinal sin.
- Thou shalt maintain high levels of cleanliness (at least outwardly) should thou not wish to be referred to as an idiot.
- Thy religion, thy business. Thou shalt not advertise or criticize any faith.
- Thou shalt not criticize the rains, the rainy season, the wet air, or the inability of clothes to dry properly during at least eight months every year. The Monsoons are our pride and pain. Only fellow Malayalis are permitted to make any such comments. The rains are off limits for all else.
