This temple located in Puri (Odisha) is one of the four dhams of Hinduism.
Jagannath is the form of Shri Krishna.
He is seated in Puri with his brother Balabhadra (Balram) and sister (Subhadra).
- Temple of Shadow :- No matter what time of the day it is, this grand temple of Shri Jagannath ji does not cast any shadow. Yes, Jagannath temple does not cast a shadow! Some attribute it to divine power while others claim that this phenomenon is due to the magnificent architecture of the Jagannath Temple.
- Mahabhog
- When food is prepared for God and it is enjoyed. Till then there is no smell in the food. But when it is received by the Tridevas and taken to the devotees, the Mahaprasad starts emanating divine fragrance.
- Shri Vishnu takes food in Puri Dham. That is why Mahabhog is very important. The number of devotees in the temple varies from a few thousand to one lakh. The surprising thing is that whatever may be the number of devotees, the amount of Prasad is accurate, it never falls short and never goes waste.
- Geographical Wonder
- Normally, sea breeze blows from sea to land in the morning and from land to sea in the evening. But in Jagannath Puri exactly the opposite happens.
- The flag on top of the temple always flies against the direction of the wind. The reason for this is beyond the understanding of even scientists.
- The wonderful thing is that wherever you stand in Puri, you will see the Sudarshan Chakra sitting on top of the temple facing you.
- The weight of the wheel is up to one ton. It is another mystery that how such a heavy and huge wheel was installed at such a height in ancient times when no machinery was available.
- Simhadwaram is the main entrance to the temple. When you enter from Sindhadwaram, you can clearly hear the sound of the waves. But as soon as you cross the Sinhadwaram and enter the temple, you will not hear the sound of the waves at all.
Soundproof technology? or a miracle?
The miracles of the temple do not end here.
There are many other things which are completely beyond science and human understanding.
If these are not divine powers then what are they?
Do visit Puri once to feel this divinity.
Jai Jagannath Mahaprabhu
Jai Shri Ram
