What unpopular opinions do you have about education?
- Today a degree is like buying a new car… it depreciates as soon as you walk out of the dealer.
- A degree is usually seen like a life insurance and people are buying it with blind faith.
- Millions of students are deceived thinking they’re getting educated; most are being indoctrinated to fit into the working class mindset.
- Millions of students ignore the painful consequences of starting their lives with the burden of student debt.
- Students have NO alternatives but to invest all their time and money in a degree and hope for the best. I call that gambling, not investing.
- Most graduate skills are a commodity — too many people graduate every year with the same skills and NO relevant differentiation.
- Many college skills will soon be replaced by powerful automation.
- Students are taught to be workers, NOT to make money. When they graduate if they can’t find a job they’ll struggle to find a good income.
- Students learn that failure is bad. They will suffer with analysis paralysis whenever facing uncertainty.
- Graduate students feel valuable and entitled to a big paycheck because of their degree — which is NOT true in the real world.
