The movie is Shabd which stars Sunjay Dutt, Aishwarya Rai and Zayed Khan in lead roles.
Sunjay Dutt is a famous writer who sees a downfall and decides to quit writing. He changes his mind and decides to write a story on the current life of his wife Aishwarya.
He starts to make note of her every movement and comes to know that his wife Aishwarya has an admirer in a fellow teacher (played by Zayed Khan). Also that Aishwarya has not informed Zayed about her marriage.
From here onwards Sunjay Dutt fabricates a realistic story. He asks his wife to hide her marital status and pursue in a relationship with Zayed.
Soon Aishwarya starts to have real feelings for Zayed though she still loves Sunjay Dutt.
Sunjay starts to believe that he can change the fate of the other two by his writings. As per his story Zayed commits suicide after learning that Aishwarya is married.
Aishwarya comes to know about everything and lies to Sunjay that Zayed has already commited suicide. She does this in order to disillusion Sunjay. This makes Sunjay feel guilty and he becomes schizophrenic.
Finally, Aishwarya sends Sunjay to an asylum as he suffers from schizophrenia.
The plot is good and the pace of the movie is deliberately kept slow. This psychological drama exploring obsession, creativity and the danger of blurring the lines between fiction and reality did not click with the audience.
