Indian Railways will now monitor track laying and assist with train accidents rescue missions.
In what is a first, the indian railways will now employ the use of drones to monitor and track the progress of its track-laying projects across the country.
The use of these drones is in keeping with Digital india initiative and was announced by Railway minister,Suresh Prabhu in feb,2016
At present,the drones are being used to monitor the projects currently underway in Rajasthan and Bihar.
This move by indian railway is followed by the launch of high-speed WI-FI internet services in Bhubneshwar by Railtel,the telecom arm of the indian railways on the 18th of april.
