Goddess Mahalakshmi took an incarnation ‘Vedavathi’. In that incarnation, she did penance for Lord Vishnu believing and worshiping him as her husband. But, in that incarnation Vishnu didn’t marry her. He granted a boon that he’ll marry her in the next incarnation.
In Kaliyug, she born as Padmavathi.
Her birth story is same as Mata Sita’s birth. King Aakasa Raju adopted her as his child. Before, he didn’t have any children. But, after she entered his house, they were blessed with a son.
Before this, Brigu went to test Trimurthi’s in which Vishnu won. And he should come to Earth to protect his devotees.
Lakshmi Maa felt very sad as Brigu kicked on the heart of Vishnu and left Vaikuntam. She went to Kolhapur. Vishnu came to Earth in search of his lovely consort. He went to Seshachalam hills and with the permission of Varaha swamy he lived there only in the asram of Vakula devi.
And he married Padmavathi Maa.
Here, many tell that, Goddess Mahalakshmi and Goddess Padmavathi fought and Maa Lakshmi went to Kolhapur and Maa Padmavathi went to Tiruchanoor. But, this may be their opinion which is completely wrong. Will Mahalakshmi fight with her incarnation itself???
And also Padmavathi Srinivasa Kalyanam happened in the presence of Mahalakshmi only. And also she said Lord to marry Padmavathi.
Maa incarnates in every yug for her husband. So, she came as Padmavathi now. Both are one.
Consorts of Vishnu are incarnation of Maa Lakshmi only. Even Bhudevi is the form of Lakshmi Matha only.
