These two great institutions are pillars of Sanatan Dharm.
Naturally, many Indians admire them as great institutions.
But, they are slightly different .
Ramakrishna Mission : This great mission was established by Swami Vivekanand.
He named it after his Guru Sri Ramakrishna Paramhams, a great mystic.
Swami Vivekanand wanted to serve downtrodden.
Thus, he established Ramakrishna Mission on 1st May 1897.
Service : Ever since, its monks serve the poorest of poor.
They also spread message of Sanatan Dharm through public talks.
It always serves all in every calamity (drought ; accidents etc.)
Chinmay Mission : Swami Chinmayanand established it in 1951.
Guided by his Guru Tapovan Maharaj ; he wanted to teach Vedanta to all.
Chinmaya Mission organizes spiritual retreats across the world.
It also runs many schools and colleges.
It often contributes to social and national causes.
Fact : Ramakrishna Mission is about Karma Yoga ; Chinmay Mission is about Gyana Yoga.
Both were great scholars and selfless human beings.
