Hrithik Roshan's birth name is Hrithik Rakesh Nagrath.
Though Hrithik did not change his official legal surname, he has adopted his grandfather's first name (Roshan) as his surname.
His father Rakesh Roshan and uncle Rajesh Roshan too have adopted the same.
The Roshan surname in their names is a homage to Roshan Lal Nagrath (legandary music composer) whose musical compositions left an indelible mark on the Bollywood landscape. It is solely done to honour his legacy in the film industry.
Besides this, Hrithik is also famous for his childhood nickname “Duggu”, which was mainly given to him by his grandmother. Duggu was created as a reverse counterpart to his father's nickname Guddu.
