Who are some Indians who are extremely rich but never show off?

I would talk about two people:

1. Sachin Bansal

  • He is the founder and former CEO of Flipkart.
  • When he left Flipkart his net worth was 6700 crores which he started from mere 2 lakhs in 2007.
  • This guy is the Mark Zuckerberg of Indian startups and he pioneered Indian start up revolution.
  • Despite being the icon among entrepreneur he has redefined simplicity. He is always down to earth with no bashing of his achievements. This guy is gem of a person.

Usually people go mad and arrogant when they achieve sudden money or fame. But this guy is simply class apart and completely different.

2. Rahul Dravid

He doesnot require those swanky Mercedes or Audis to travel. A simple auto-rickshaw is enough for him.

He can proudly command his fans who stand in queues to meet him. But he doesnot mind standing in the queue with his children in a school exhibition.

He can easily use his influence to book an entire restaurant for a dinner but he prefers to walks to the nearby café to get his own coffee..

He travels in economy class just like others, once one of my friend once saw him in an economy class and was quite stunned. He told me how Rahul Dravid was addressing the flight attendants as ma’am and sir.

While the cricketers of the current generation can easily endorse international brands for mind-blowing sums of money, but he volunteered to endorse Blind Cricket for free.

With his knowledge of the game, he can earn at least 5 times he is currently earning from commentary or coaching a high-profile team.

But he prefers to chooses to coach and mentor the India U-19 team because they are our future. And he took a 50% pay cut so that the support staff could be rewarded equally with him.

What do people of other nations do very easily that Indians can't?

Have a look at these pictures

This is traffic jam in Japan

This is traffic jam in UK

This is in USA

All of them are waiting in proper manner and position, but now?

These are of India

.

.

.

.

Most of us in India can’t wait patiently in traffic and create lots of noise pollution too while waiting in traffic, we have ability to create jams even on free roads

Edit 1- Some are saying that India is not having proper roads, traffic lights, government mistakes etc. , I am not talking about it, I am saying that its a common behavior of Indian to rush and overtake and thus creating jams.

Edit 2- I have removed the picture of china as many suggest that it was a photo-shopped.

How did ancient Indians calculate Jupiter's orbital period so accurately?

Ancient Indian astronomers combined their observational and mathematical skills, and knowledge of celestial mechanics, to accurately calculate Jupiter's orbital period. They have made some remarkable contributions to astronomy,

They relied on meticulous naked-eye observations of celestial bodies, such as Jupiter, and tracked the planet's position relative to the fixed stars in the background, over long periods. They used simple instruments like gnomons (vertical sticks) and armillary spheres to measure angles and positions of celestial objects. (An armillary sphere is a model of the objects in the sky, consisting of a spherical framework of rings, centered on Earth or the Sun, that represent lines of celestial longitude and latitude and the ecliptic.)

The ancient Indian astronomical texts, known as Siddhantas, provided systematic methods for calculating the positions and motions of the visible planets. The Surya Siddhanta, one of the most famous texts, contains detailed descriptions of planetary motions and methods for calculating their positions. . The Surya Siddhanta includes tables of sine values. Yes, Indian astronomers developed and used trigonometric functions, such as sine and cosine, to perform precise calculations.

By observing Jupiter's position relative to the background stars, ancient Indian astronomers determined its orbital period. They noted that Jupiter takes 12 years to complete one full orbit around the Sun.
