Why do very few South Indian actresses get a role in North Indian movies but a lot of North Indian actresses get a role in South?

South indian actress are good in acting skill but lack in showing glamour in early 2000s.

They lack acting in bikinis and lack in kiss scene especially they lack in portray their body shape by which most of the men love to watch.

They are poor performer of sexy scene which every men go for watching movie in theatres with the mouth open.

That days, no one goes to movie which is heroine oriented and that too skill based movie.

May be some historic stories or big budget stories run. ( This only suit for North India)

Especially this too fail in South India especially in 2000’s

South indian films are mostly commercial based.

They have two or three love songs. In that one is “ kuthu song”, one is a normal song, and the last is a sexy song. The first two song comes before interval. The third song and the fourth( seperation or sad song) will be the second half. There will be ending song ( happy ending)also.

Directors want to engage people till the end of movie. So they introduce female actors from north.

North indian female actress may don't have acting skills but they fill up what the fan wants.

Simran.

Kiran rathod

Nagma

These are old stories.

But nowadays(in 2010 to 2020) south indian actress also have increased their capabilities and are showing good skill in acting as well as glamour roles

Nayanthara

Trisha

varalakshmi

Anjali

Samantha

Shruti hasan

As north indian films are mostly commercial film, they don't want to pick a south indian actress as they have a huge lumsum of glamourous actress.

Catching a big fish(glamourous actress) in sea(north india) is easier than catching it in pond.(south india)

In South( especially tamilnadu)

And nowadays things have changed in 2020, some film (heroine based) also being a hit example airaa, aramm, imaika nodikal,Raatchaci, kaatrin mozhi , English vinglish

Without heorine or songs also, the film runs

Example:kaithi.

Sometimes for story, the film runs

example vadachennai, Madras, asuran,Nimirundu nil, supramaniapuram, appa, saatai, Thani oruvan, pariyerum Perumal, kullanarikootam etc etc

some wrong information has been posted in other answers. I will not correct them. Just see the pictures.

some truth,

rural areas = Poverty.

Each email has been checked by the government if email to foreigners.

Lack of fuel (US's blockade) In the rural areas, you can see trucks use wood as energy.

Even the best geologists in the best colleges of North Korea hardly do the fieldwork, as it is quite difficult to get permission to buy gasoline.
