Which are the most unsuccessful Bollywood actors and actresses?

We know how successful many have become, and equally many have failed in Bollywood, to become 'bankable' stars despite being one of the few given a chance. Some might lack skills even after being given multiple chances, and others might not be 'commercially successful' but are brilliant actors. Nonetheless, it doesn't mean lack of skill when called a 'disaster', it just means the person could not make a career, let alone at the Box Office.

Here are some of the actors and actresses who are considered some of the 'worst failures' in Bollywood despite their industry support or even if they gave successful debuts.

Actors that FAILED to hit success:

Uday Chopra

After his debut with Mohabbatein, Uday Chopra gave many blockbusters with the Dhoom franchise but still couldn't turn into a successful hero for Bollywood. Despite having a connection to one of the biggest film families and having a number of successful films, he never lived up to the hero potential.

Harman Baweja

Harman Baweja was marketed as the next big Bollywood star with his debut film Love Story 2050. With an amount of hype, which was unheard of, with him being compared with legendary actors, the film did nothing to impress, let alone the audience or critics.

Fardeen Khan

The 2000s was dominated by Fardeen Khan on the screen but he never quite reached the superstar status, though his movies did create some buzz in the decade and a couple of them performed well at the Box Office.

Tusshar Kapoor

Tusshar Kapoor has had few of his hits in the comedy franchises like Golmaal, but he has not been able to create the image of a leading actor. Most of his hits are ensemble performances.

Actresses who FAILED to sustain success:

Tanisha Mukerji

Another well-known film family and very high expectations from Tanisha Mukerji. The star has not been able to make it at the box office.

Sneha Ullal

Gained a lot of popularity because of her resemblance with the Bollywood queen; Sneha Ullal was loved in her debut but never able to create a successful career at the Box Office.

Koena Mitra

Known for her music video appearances, Koena Mitra could not make it big as an actress at the Box Office despite having two of her films becoming hits.

Shamita Shetty

Though it is rare to hear her name among the best, Shamita Shetty is another from a strong film family that could not sustain herself at the Box Office but made her mark as a dancer and later on the reality television show.

Why would somebollywood stars fail?

* The most common reason is due to bad scripting and characterization.

* Many fall prey to the competition in the highly competitive film industry.

* The film industry relies very heavily on Box office performance, so a debut film failing could have major consequences for the career of the star.

* It has been observed that at times audience preference shifts towards the more unconventional performers.

* Actors and actresses need to possess a certain "screen presence" and charisma that some fail to develop.

Bollywood is arguably one of the most competitive film industries in the world, and a lot of deserving performers have failed to reach the pinnacle of stardom despite possessing good looks, great bodies and industry backing.

Conclusion:

Most of the unsuccessful actors, actresses have failed to live up to the expectations placed on them, with the notable ones being Uday Chopra, Harman Baweja, Fardeen Khan, Tanisha Mukerji and Sneha Ullal. Nonetheless, these actors and actresses are still considered part of the Bollywood fraternity for their services.
