What are the different types of freight trains in India?

 There are around 16 Types of Freight Train (Wagon) in Indian Railways and each goods train play huge role to transport Goods and efficient service.

1.BCNA

(B:-Boggie, C- Covered wagon, N:-Type of Air Braked

means covered Boggie covered wagon with Air Braked)

Used for transport Food, Grain, Cement, fertilizer

2. BOXN Wagon

B:-Bogie, O:-Open Wagon, X:-High sided, N-Air Brake (Pneumatic)

Used for transport Bulk like Coal, Iron Ore and other minerals

3. BOBYN Hopper Wagon

(B:-Boggie, O:Open Wagon, B:Bottom Discharge/Hopper, Y:-Specific Variant, N-Air-braked (Pneumatic)

4.BOBRN Wagon

Double Decker Wagon

Bigger version of NMG Rake to carry Automobiles like Cars , Suv together. It has 2 Decks Upper and Lower to transport Cars, faster and more spacious

12. VPH Wagon (High Capacity Parcel Van

VPH Wagon used for High speed, Secure and Mass Transportation of Parcel, Mails , Bikes and it is attached at the end of the Generator Car With LHB coaches.

13. BLC/DSDC Container Wagon

Single/Double Stack

14. BRNA Wagon (Flat)

Used for efficienct, Heavy Goods and RO-RO service Trucks to reach their destination. This scenario is common in Konkan railway

15. BOM wagon (Bogie Open Military)

Used for Military Purpose to carry like Arjun Tank, Trucks, Car and Army Troops

16. BFNS wagon

Bogie Flat Narrow-panel Steel wagon.

Used for steel coils, plates, sheets, and billets
