•Duronto Express is a class of long distance train operated by Indian Railways. Duronto means restless in Bengali.
•Reflecting its original concept, it runs non stop between Major Metropolitan City, directly connecting from one metro city to another city.
•Key Routes like Mumbai Central to New Delhi, Howrah to New Delhi and Mumbai LTT -Secunderabad.
•First service on 18 September 2009 and Introduced by Ex-Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee and flagged off the inaugural service from Sealdah (Kolkata) to New Delhi.
•The objective of this train service was to provide non stop service with few halts and makes them faster alternative train for long distance. The train halts at certain technical stops for catering and crew change.
•Duronto coaches are easily identifiable by their bright yellow-green color scheme, which was chosen to symbolize a "field full of flowers."
•Duronto Express is the 2nd fastest train in India ranking just below the Rajdhani Express in railway priority.
•Classes & Accomodation:-It offers 3 classes of accomodation, Ac first class (1A), AC 2 tier (2A) and AC 3 tier (3A) and in some train also offer non AC Sleeper coach.

•Interior Features: Coaches are equipped with, 1-liter free water bottles, clean blankets, sheets, charging points for mobile/laptops, reading lights, and foldable bottle holders.
•Inclusive meals and catering:-Passengers receive meals, tea, and snacks (morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening snacks tea/coffee and dinner) based on travel duration, typically included in the fare. The service is known for its hygienic food, .
•Previously it used to run with ICF coach then later with Hybrid LHB coaches.Now All Duronto Express runs with Standard LHB Coach.
•As of 2026 there are 24 Duronto Express are operational.
•The longest distance Duronto Express is 12283/Ernakulam Junction-Hazrat Nizamuddin covers 2638 km.
