Its high dietary fibre helps in digestion .

It’s rich in potassium which helps in lowering bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol .

It’s best fruit in controlling blood sugar .Though I am not sure about other benefits but I have checked my blood sugar even after eating a bowl of guava .So I simply love them .

It’s antioxidant and pink guavas are full of lycopene too .

These are special type of pear shaped red guavas I had tested in USA .

What are the top 5 fruits that you cannot eat at night?

I've seen a patient confused as to why she couldn't lose weight and had trouble sleeping, feeling constantly exhausted, despite a perfectly clean diet of no junk food or sodas or any processed foods whatsoever. She kept track of her meals in a food diary for me to see proof of her good eating habits. In her journal I found the culprit immediately; she ate every night a large amount of fresh fruits for dessert because "fruit is healthy," so there couldn't possibly be something wrong with the food.

When it comes to eating the most damaging fruits at night, the one thing to take into consideration is their glycemic load and time at which our hormones are the least able to cope with such foods properly. Banana, with its high glycemic load, spikes your blood sugar and insulin at a time when you want to start burning fat and undergoing cellular repair, which interferes both with your metabolic functions and quality of sleep. Grapes and mangoes bring a big load of concentrated fructose, that is turned into triglycerides by your liver at night, when it slows down its metabolism dramatically. The watermelon, regardless of its seemingly innocent appearance, is basically made of pure sugar and has a very high glycemic index, flooding your system with glucose when the nighttime inactive metabolism doesn't know where to send it all. Bromelain and high levels of sugars in pineapples will stimulate your digestion and blood sugar levels, creating a hostile environment for the restful night. Oranges or other citrus fruits will create an acidic environment in the body due to being eaten horizontally while causing spikes in sugar levels that will ruin sleep architecture entirely.

While Western medicine started considering circadian rhythm only quite recently, TCM was already aware of the process thousands of years ago. It is known that each night our body repairs different organs in certain hours and that eating cold and sugary foods in that period will only make this impossible. While the knowledge of nutritional timing has always been around, now it has somehow been lost.

What are some surprising facts about fruits that most people don't know

A strawberry’s “seeds” are on the outside because they’re the actual fruits—and the red part isn’t the fruit at all. That’s the kind of twist botany keeps hiding in plain sight.

One of the best examples is the cashew. The part that looks like the fruit — the fleshy red or yellow “cashew apple” — is not the true fruit in the strict botanical sense. The actual fruit is the kidney-shaped structure hanging off the end, and the edible cashew “nut” is the seed inside it. In other words, the thing most people think is the accessory part is the real fruit, while the juicy part is a swollen stalk.

A cashew apple with the kidney-shaped cashew fruit attached at the end

strawberry pulls a similar trick. Those tiny specks on the outside are the actual fruits, each one a dry one-seeded fruit called an achene. The red fleshy part that people eat is enlarged receptacle tissue. So a strawberry is not a berry in the botanical sense at all; it is an aggregate accessory fruit.

banana is another excellent oddity. Wild bananas are full of hard seeds. The familiar supermarket banana is the result of human selection for seedlessness, which is why its little black specks are just aborted remnants rather than functional seeds. Botanically, though, a banana still counts as a berry.

That sounds backwards until the berry definition is explained. In botany, a berry is a fleshy fruit that develops from a single ovary and usually contains multiple seeds embedded in the flesh. By that definition, grapes, bananas, tomatoes, and kiwifruit are berries. Raspberries and blackberries are not; each little bead is its own tiny fruit, so they are aggregate fruits.

Then there is the pineapple, which is not one fruit but many fruits fused together. Each segment on the surface comes from a separate flower in the original flower cluster. As those flowers develop, they merge into one large structure called a multiple fruit. Mulberries and breadfruit are built on the same basic principle.

The fig is stranger still. A fig is essentially a hollow, fleshy container lined on the inside with tiny flowers. What people think of as the “seeds” inside a fig are actually the mature fruits from those flowers. Botanists call this structure a syconium. That means a fig is less like a simple fruit and more like an inward-turned flower head that ripens into an edible pouch.

Pomelos, which you mentioned, are interesting for another reason: citrus fruits have a specialized berry type called a hesperidium. Their leathery rind and segmented interior are distinctive enough that botany gives them their own category. The juice-filled sacs inside each segment are modified hairs packed with liquid, which is a very elegant piece of plant engineering.

One reason these facts feel surprising is that ordinary language sorts fruits by taste and use, while botany sorts them by how flowers are built and how ovaries develop. Once that distinction clicks, the fruit aisle starts to look much stranger — and much more interesting — than it first appears.

What are the native fruits of India?

Only three fruits qualify as completely native to India.

1.Jack fruit.. It was found commonly in the south western forests of the western ghats. The Jack fruit has been cultivated from nearly 3000 to 6000 years back as per the archaeological evidence. It grew in the forests of Karnataka, Kerala and Nilgiris. The word jack fruit comes from the original Malayalam word ‘chakka pazham’ where pazham means fruit.

2. Mango.. It is native to South Asia and has been cultivated since 4000 years ago. It has reference in Sanskrit and Thamizh literature. It was found all over the northern plains of India.

3.Banana.. Many wild species of banana were found in India, S. E. Asia.and the Pacific Islands around 8000 B. C. They are the world's first fruit. The original wild bananas had big black seeds, more fibre and less sugar content. The modern bananas, domesticated, have very tiny seeds and are high in sugar content

We have reference to ‘mukkani’ meaning the mixture of three fruits namely mango, Jack and bananas in ancient Thamizh literature. It was mixed with a good amount of honey and had.

Two more fruits are native to India though they trace their nativity to other places also especially south east Asia

Palmyra tree and the palm fruits.. Found commonly in South India. A cooling fruit

Jamun, (Jhumbal, Indian black Berry, java plum).. Found in India, Srilanka and S. E Asia. A fruit with medicinal properties especially for diabetic people.

Is eating dry fruits at night, good or bad?

Additionally, eating a handful of dried fruit before bedtime may help promote good sleep, as some studies suggest that certain types of dried fruit have natural sleep-inducing properties. Therefore, whether it's in the morning or at night, eating a handful of dried fruit can benefit overall health and well-being.

Almonds. Just a handful of these and you'll be dozing off in no time. Pasquella says almonds contain tryptophan and magnesium, which both help to naturally reduce muscle and nerve function while also steadying your heart rhythm. Almond butter or peanut butter will also work.

Eating Dry Fruits don't really have either good or bad time. But to achieve maximum health benefits of dry fruits it is advised to eat it early in the morning. The best time to eat dry fruits and nuts are mainly morning. Though it is a very good for our health, it should be consumed in limited quantity every day.

These nuts are sweet in flavour and are consumed raw & roasted, and people also use them in making chocolate products like chocolate spreads. Since these nuts are rich in tryptophan, the amino acid that promotes sleepiness, the best time to eat them is at night.

Dried fruit can boost your fiber and nutrient intake and supply your body with large amounts of antioxidants. However, they are also high in sugar and calories, and can cause problems when eaten in excess. For this reason, dried fruit should only be eaten in small amounts, preferably along with other nutritious foods.

What are the best fruits for glowing skin naturally?

What you are looking for are foods containing nutrients that promote collagen/skin production and which contain a high water content to improve moisture retention. Specifically, anything high in amino acids, vitamin C, and minerals like zinc, copper, and iron and fruit with high water content.

Amino acids, such as glycine and proline, are the building blocks of collagen, while vitamin C is essential for its synthesis and protection. Zinc helps activate amino acids, copper activates the enzymes that cross-link collagen fibers, and iron is required for healthy collagen.

In terms of fruit, the Kakadu Plum, a native Australian fruit, has up to 100 times the vitamin C content of an orange.

However, if you can't get a hold of any of those, then guava, kiwi, strawberries, papaya, cantaloupe, mango and citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruit and lemons are all high in Vitamin C.

Fruits such as watermelon, strawberries, peaches, apples, grapes, guavas and cucumber (yes, it's a fruit) have a very high water content, which helps with skin hydration.

Many fruits such as guavas, passion fruit, apricots, and bananas have some amino acid content, but protein-rich foods such as red meat, poultry, fish, eggs and soy are better for providing the amino acids necessary for skin production.

Fruit that contain some zinc include avocado, pomegranate, blackberry, and guava, along with kiwifruit, blueberries, cantaloupe, and apricot.

Fruits high in copper include avocados, guavas, and dried fruits like apricots, prunes, and raisins. Other good sources are blackberries, star fruit, kiwifruit, and pineapples.

You'll find iron in strawberries, watermelon, blueberries, bananas, guavas and avocado.

Lots of different fruit can help give you a glowing complexion, but if you are looking for one "all rounder" then probably guava fits the bill.
