Prithviraj Kapoor starred in the film Awara. In fact the film had three generations of Kapoors. Raj Kapoor, Prithiviraj Kapoor and Prithiviraj Kapoor's father Dewan Basheshwarnath Kapoor also had a short role in the film.
Acutally Raj Kapoor knew that his father will refuse the film so he requested writer Abbas to narrate the story to Prithiviraj Kapoor. On knowing that Raj Kapoor is going to act and direct the film he straightaway refused to do the film.
He told Abbas why he is writing for Raj Kapoor. Actually Prithiviraj underestimated Raj Kapoor. His point was that Raj Kapoor will not be able to handle the film and would spoil it. The writers talked and convinced Prithiviraj to work in the film and at least see the results.
Later Prithiviraj reluctantly agreed to do the film. Raj Kapoor had a tough time directing his father.
Finally, Awara saw the light of the day and created history.
