I will write some of the best dialogues from this hindi movie, 3 Idiots. I will write most of the dialogues in english because hindi speaking people can easily correlate the dialogues as they are announced deep within their hearts, when they read it. This movie is a must watch for all people, whether they are Indians or not, whether they are college graduates or not. I am sure it will teach you something about "How to live your life ?".
First off, let's come to reality. No matter how much we hate this stereotypical professor, he taught us about some bitter truths of life.
"Remember, life is a race. If you don't run fast enough then someone else will crush you and move ahead."
Even though this dialogue was not said in true spirit of the race he is talking about, but it is 100% true.
This engineering kid in the image below named as "Rancho" is an expert at making dialogues that can touch anybody's heart.
Plot- Rancho is talking to a vendor at his university whose age is to go to school, but can't do so because of lack of money.
"Kid, you don't need money for going to school. You just need a uniform. Buy a uniform of the school you like the most and go start attending the classes. The population is so much that nobody would get to know about your scam."
This dialogue shows how free we need to think in our daily lives. Truth is available to those who have the courage to question whatever they have been taught. Another one of similar nature- Rancho and his friends are roaming around, feeling hungry after being scolded by parents. At this moment Rancho says pointing toward a marriage party-
" Oye, to fill your stomach you don't need money, you just need a uniform"
Soon all the friends are found dressed up, attending the ceremony and eating till their neck.
Another great one, after Rancho is expelled to attend all the classes he is eligible to attend-
"Knowledge is being shared everywhere in the campus. Grab it wherever you can"
Hindi Translation (can't be avoided)- "Chaaro taraf gyan batt raha hai...jidhar se mile, lapet lo")
Rancho is being forced to teach the class when he tries to tell his director that he is not taking appropriate steps to spread quality education across the country. Stranded, he asks the class to explain the meaning of two words written by him on the green board within a minute. When nobody is able to give an answer, this is what he has to say.
" Now rewind the last minute of your life and think, when I asked this question did anybody thought that today we will get to learn something new? No, everybody started to compete in a race. Even if you come first by studying in this manner then what is the gain? Did your knowledge increase? No. Only your mental pressure did increase. And this is a college, not a pressure cooker. Pressure can even make a lion learn how to jump and sit on a chair. But we call that lion well trained, not well educated."
I hope somebody could tell this to all budding students across the world-
"Study to gain knowledge, not to get successful. Don't run behind success, run behind excellence. Success will come back chasing you".
Last One. Farhan leaves his engineering job interview and came back home trying to convince his father to let him become what he wants. His father get's angry at this. After some lines are exchanged between them, comes this epic line-
Dad- Voh apne Kapoor sahab keh rhe the ki khushkismat ho tum ki tumhara beta I.C.E. mei padhta hai. Vo kya sochenge?
( Translation- Some days ago, Mr. Kapoor was saying that you are lucky that your son studies in I.C.E. What will he think?)
Farhan-
"Kapoor sahab ne mere kamre mei AC nhi lagvaya tha. Mujhe aaram se sula ke vo khud garmi mei nhi soye the. Apne kandhe par baitha kar kapoor sahaab mujhe zoo mei ghumane nhi le gaye the. Vo sab aapne kiya tha abba. Aap kya sochenge farak padta hai, kapoor sahab kya sochenge isse mujhe koi farak nhi padta. Arey mujhe to unka pehla naam tak nhi pata"
( Translation- Mr. Kapoor didn't got me an AC in my room. He didn't trouble himself in hot summer so as to make me comfortable. Mr. Kapoor didn't take me to the zoo, when I was small. It was you who did all this Dad. What you will think, matters to me. What Mr. kapoor will think that doesn't matter me at all. Indeed I even don't know his first name !!)
