Jaddanbai was Nargis's mother and Sanjay Dutt's maternal grandmother, know why there were three marriages each ?

Special relationship with Sanjay Dutt-Nargis

Jaddanbai was rich in versatility. Apart from being an actress, she was also a musician and film producer. Famous film star Sanjay Dutt and his mother Nargis also have a deep connection with Jaddanbai. Actually, she was Nargis's mother and the actor's grandmother. Jaddanbai was born in 1892. His mother Dalipbai was a courtesan.

Learned music from these giants

  • According to media reports, Dalipbai was kidnapped by a group of courtesans in her childhood, due to which she also had to do this work in Allahabad. Jaddanbai shifted to Kolkata with her family at a very young age. His music education started from here. He started it with thumri singer Moinuddin. After this, Jaddanbai also received music training from Barkat Ali, the younger brother of Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.

House built three times

Talking about Jaddanbai's personal life, she did three marriages. His first marriage was with Narottam Das. He had a son from this marriage, named Akhtar Hussain. Later on, his son also tried his hand at acting. After a few years Narottam left them and never returned. After this, Jaddanbai got married to harmonium player Irshad Mir. He also had a son from this marriage, whom he named Anwar Khan. However, this marriage also could not last. After this Mohan Babu of Lucknow entered Jaddanbai's life. After meeting Jaddanbai, he gave his heart to her and proposed marriage, but Jaddanbai put a condition for it. She told Mohanbabu that she would marry him only if he converted to Islam. Mohan Babu, who had been arrested in love, obeyed her and accepted Islam and married her. After conversion, he became Abdul Rashid.

Battle with cancer

From this marriage, he had a daughter, whom he named Fatima and Tejaswini. Later, this daughter of hers raised flags in the Hindi film industry by the name of Nargis. Jaddanbai worked in a total of five films in her film career. He also opened his own production house, under whose banner he made many films. Talaash-e-Haq was his last film, which gave him special recognition as a music composer. In the year 1940, he had to close his production house due to heavy losses. On April 8, 1949, he said goodbye to the world while fighting a battle with cancer.
