Lovers : Dilip Kumar and Madhubala were once known as a couple.
They had met during shooting of Tarana (1951) and reportedly fallen in love.
They were all set to marry ; but Madhubala’s father refused marriage proposal offered by Dilip Kumar’s family.
Interestingly, their mutual friends ; acquaintances and media were looking forward to their marriage.
Anger : Luck and professional commitment brought them together during shooting of Mughal E Azam.
They both kept safe distance from each other and hardly communicated except dialogues.
Slap : In once scene; Dilip Kumar (as prince Salim) had to slap Madhubala (Anarkali)
It was supposed to be simple slap. But, Dilip Kumar reportedly hit Madhubala hard.
It left Madhubala in tears; while Dilip Kumar suddenly left the scene.
Irony : Everyone including K Asif , film maker, and Ajit (actor) knew the real reason behind this incident.
But, K Asif presented it as an act of real acting by two wonderful actors.
