Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan passed away in 2020 within a gap of one day.
The two of them were seen together in Nikhil Advani’s action thriller D-Day. The two of them bonded together during the shooting of the film in which Rishi played a terrorist (Gold Man) and Irfan played an undercover RAW agent.
Initially, Rishi found it difficult to work with Irrfan and said that Irrfan does not know how to act. This was because Irrfan loved to improvise and never gave the same dialogue cue twice which frustrated Rishi as he came from old-school background and relied on structured cues.
Irrfan famously called Rishi ‘hot liquid’ because Rishi didn't have to prove himself as a star anymore and was having a blast as an actor.
As time passed, the two of them gelled together. Rishi was always known to be moody and foody. During the difficult desert shoot in Kutch, Irrfan helped to secure a challenging sunrise shoot by persuading Rishi to stay, offering him “chicken jungli and alcohol”.
Both immensely talented, left too soon.
