I was born in Calcutta, on November 11 and spent my entire childhood there. Being an only child, my parents doted on me, more so my father. I was sent to a very good school and was ensured the best of education.
Dad gave me the best of everything in life actually. When he discovered that I was blessed with a very good voice, he encouraged me to become a singer. From school performances, I graduated to stage shows. I never had any official training but I could sing like a nightingale."
