Bharat went to fight Gandharvas and he defeated them and he established two cities, Pushkalavati (Peshawar) and Takshashila (Taxila) named after his sons, Pushkal and Taksha. According to Raghuvansh, he had received the region of Sindhu (Indus) from his maternal uncle Yuddhajita. The father of Kaikeyi named Ashwapati was ruler of Kaikeya which fell in the region of Bahlikas (Balkha and surrounding areas) in Ramayana era.
Shatrughna was sent by Shri Ram to fight Lavanasura (son of Madhu and Kumbhinasi) and he defeated Lavanasura and established the region of Shurasena and Madhura became Mathura eventually. His son Subahu ruled the region while his son Shatrughati (Yupaketu in Ananda Ramayana and Shrutsena in Puran) was given the region of Vidisha.
