As Brahmins were an educated and exposed class in those days it is obvious that they got a wind early of the slavery that was going on at the hands of the British and the Islamists too and could motivate others to join in the freedom struggle.

Hindu Brahmins played a great role in the Indian Freedom struggle and made a stellar contribution in fighting against British oppression (and even against fighting the Islamic powers as Peshwa Bajirao instilled a Hindu Paatshahi on the Delhi throne making the Mughal a puppet). Though people from all castes in India were vital in the fight for freedom I am mentioning about Hindu Brahmins in this article because that is what this question is about. More will be shared below at the end of the article. I would equally love to write about great Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra freedom fighter legends too in questions asked highlighting their role in the fight for freedom.
